Abstract: To investigate the chemical constituents of Desmodium styracifolium (Osbeck) Merr. The compounds were isolated by column chromatography on silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 and HPLC. Their structures were identified by their physicochemical properties and spectral data. Thirteen compounds were isolated and identified as vicenin 1 (1), vicenin 2 (2), vicenin 3 (3), schaftoside (4), isovitexin (5), genistin (6), chrysoeriol (7), luteolin (8), salic acid (9), gentisic acid (10), orbicularin (11), uracil (12) and allantoin (13). Compounds 2, 6, 7, 9~13 were isolated from this plant for the first time.
