Acrylamide (AA) is ubiquitous in packaging materials, paints, cosmetics, food and drinking water. However, AA has obvious neurotoxicity, reproductive toxicity and carcinogenicity, which seriously endangers human health. As one of precious traditional Chinese medicines, Gastrodia elata Bl. has been mainly used to lower blood pressure and resist myocardial ischemia. However, the antioxidant activity of Gastrodia elata Bl. on AA-induced DNA damage has not been reported. We found that AA (25, 30 and 50 mg/kg) could cause DNA damage and the damage was time/dose dependent. After AA administration, Tail moment, micronuclei formation rate, 8-OHdG and MDA level were significantly increased and SOD activity was decreased. Gastrodia elata Bl. decoction, gastrodin and vitamin C could reduce AA-induced DNA damage by decreasing AA-induced increment of tail moment and micronuclei formation rate. What’s more, Gastrodia elata Bl. decoction, gastrodin and vitamin C could lower 8-OHdG and MDA level and improve SOD activity. In conclusion, our research showed that Gastrodia elata Bl. decoction and gastrodin had protective effects on AA-induced DNA damage, and the potential protective mechanism might be related to anti-oxidative stress.

    摘要 ( 525 )   PDF(1998KB) ( 427 )
Ginseng polysaccharides were extracted by water decoction from Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer (Cultivated Ginseng), named CGPS. Four polysaccharide fractions, CGPS-20, CGPS-40, CGPS-60 and CGPS-80, were precipitated at final ethanol concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60% and 80%, respectively. Physicochemical properties, molecular weight, monosaccharide composition and antioxidant capacity of polysaccharide fractions were all investigated. The results indicated that changing the concentration of ethanol could precipitate polysaccharides into fractions with different molecular weights, functional group composition and physicochemical properties, eventually leading to differences in antioxidant activity, which would help to find a simple, efficient, and reliable method for rapid extraction and purification of antioxidant polysaccharides from Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer. Among the four polysaccharide fractions, CGPS-80 had lower molecular weight, higher contents of uronic acid and total phenolic, and stronger scavenging ability on DPPH∙ and ABTS∙+ radicals.

    摘要 ( 499 )   PDF(928KB) ( 476 )
Ailanthus altissima (Mill.) Swingle is a deciduous tree belonging to the Simaroubaceae family. The root and stem bark are traditional medicines for treating many diseases, such as diarrhea, dreaminess and intestinal tract bleeding. Phytochemical investigation of Ailanthus altissima (Mill.) Swingle led to the isolation of eight compounds. Chemical structures of these compounds were identified by analyzing their NMR spectroscopic data. Among them, compounds 1, 4, 5, 6 and 8 were isolated from Ailanthus Desf. for the first time. The antioxidant activities of these compounds were determined by DPPH radical scavenging method.

    摘要 ( 353 )   PDF(14091KB) ( 345 )
Viburnum odoratissimum, a landscape plant, is rich in vibsane-type diterpenes, triterpenes, monoterpenoids, sesquiterpenoids, coumarins, and lignans and so on. In the present work, network analysis was carried out to predict the potential targets of V. odoratissimum and the treatment of related diseases. 13 main target proteins were predicted, as well as the diseases which might interact with the compounds from V. odoratissimum. The results showed that vibsane-type diterpenes and triterpenes had the potential to treat neoplasm-related and inflammation-related diseases, and the key target proteins were MDM2, NOS, AR, DNMT1, NR3C1, RARA and PTPN1. Among them, AR, NOS, DNMT1, NR3C1, DNMT1 and PTPN1 were also the crucial targets for triterpenes in the treatment of diabetes mellitus. Besides, ALOX15, PIPN1, TLR9, MIT, DNMT1, RAC1, RTGS2, RARA and ACHE were the potential targets for coumarins and lignan in the treatment of neoplasm-related diseases. Furthermore, ESR1, AR, NOS2, NR3C1 were the primary targets for monoterpenoids and sesquiterpenoids because of their potential neuroprotective effects. It is noteworthy that the study of the potential targets and related diseases can provide new insights for further development of V. odoratissimum.

    摘要 ( 552 )   PDF(2151KB) ( 613 )
Periploca forrestii Schltr. belonging to the family of Apocynaceae, is one of the “three treasures of Miao medicine”, which was utilized by the Miao people in China for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, fractures and wound. Phytochemical investigations have discovered that the main constituents of Periploca forrestii were steroids, terpenoids, flavonoids and their glycosides, flavanols, quinones and phenylpropanoids. Modern pharmacological studies have shown that it possesses a wide range of biological activities, such as anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatoid arthritis, anticancer, immunosuppressive, neuroprotective and other properties. This paper summarized the primary chemical constituents and pharmacological effects of Periploca forrestii, hoping to provide a reference for its further development and utilization.

    摘要 ( 555 )   PDF(1513KB) ( 691 )
Juncus is the largest genus of Juncaceae family, with about 240 species around the world. There are 77 species, 1 variety and 10 deformations grown in China. Up to now, 117 components have been identified as phenanthrenes and dihydrophenanthrenes, which are the characteristic constituents of this genus, and 48 ones have been identified as triterpenoids, glycerides, coumarins, flavonoids from this genus. The reported constituents displayed diverse bioactivities, including antiproliferative, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anxiolytic, sedative, spasmolytic, anticholinesterase and antialgal effects. This review summarized the research progress on the chemical components and pharmacological effects of the genus of Juncus so far.
