Abstract: The aim of this study is to investigate in vitro phytochemical analysis and antimicrobial activity of different solvents extracts from the fresh leaves of Omani Lawsonia inermis. Different polarities organic solvents such as methanol, chloroform, hexane, ethyl acetate and butanol were used to prepare the crude extracts from the fresh leaves of Lawsonia inermis. In vitro antimicrobial activity of different polarities extracts from the fresh leaves of Omani Lawsonia inermis was determined by agar disc diffusion method against one gram positive and two gram negative bacteria. Phytochemical screening of different polarities crude extracts were tested and shown positive results for alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, saponins, steroids, tannins and triterpenoids. However, the crude extracts didn’t show anthraquinones and phytosterol test. The methanol, chloroform, hexane, ethyl acetate and butanol crude extracts were display minimum antimicrobial potential against the tested one gram positive (Staphylococcus aureus) and two gram negative (Escherichia coli and Pseudomonus aeruginosa) bacterial strain at different concentrations in the range of 0-11%. Based on phytochemical screening and antimicrobial activity results it can be suggested that the fresh leaves extracts of Omani Lawsonia inermis for curing various formulations.
