Abstract:

Licochalcones are important active components derived from the traditional Chinese medicinal herb Glycyrrhiza. Numerous studies have demonstrated that these compounds exert pharmacological effects on tumor cells. This review mainly elaborates on the classification of licochalcones and their corresponding anti-tumor activities, and summarizes the major anti-tumor  mechanisms and key signaling pathways. It intuitively clarifies the effective pathways by which these compounds interfere with  the proliferation of tumor cells, and discusses the existing limitations in current research on licochalcones. The study aims to provide a solid theoretical basis for the development of highly efficient anti-tumor drugs.

Key words: licochalcone, natural products, antitumor, signaling pathways
