Abstract: This study was carried out in four villages inhabited by two tribal groups, namely Deuri and Mishing i.e. Namdeuri, Upper Deuri, Kalbari and Banhphola Mishing Gaon of the Jorhat district of Assam, India, to acquire knowledge of the local use of plant resources to prevent and cure intestinal worm infestations. Intestinal worm infestation is a serious health problem in developing countries, particularly South East Asia including India, with a recoded incidence of (46-90) % worm infections among the people of these countries affecting mainly children. Authors had been recorded forty-three (43) medicinal plant species in their locality that are traditionally used for the prevention and cure of worm infestations. The method of preparation and doses of these medicines administered are given as per the prescription suggested by the traditional medicine practitioners (TMP) of the two communities.
